Carrot Cake


The Carrot Cake is one of the favorite desserts in UK households. For us, the idea of adding a carrot-like vegetable to a sponge cake can be quite rare, but I assure you that the end result is delicious.


This is a cake that goes well with a good cup of tea or coffee. Have you ever tried carrot cake? Well, it’s time to do it. A simple recipe, perfect for those who enter the world of cooking and gastronomy.

What do you need?

The ingredients you need are 250 grams of grated carrot; 200 grams of flour; 7 grams of yeast powder; 125 ml. of olive oil; 4 eggs; 200 grams of sugar (white or tan); and a small teaspoon of cinnamon and another of nutmeg.

Peel and grate the carrots

To start you have to peel, wash and grate the carrots. And save them for later. Then you have to put some sugar in a bowl and mix it with some eggs until you get a frothy texture. If possible, you can beat the eggs with a mixer.


Then add the oil to the mixture and beat again. Stir in some cinnamon, nutmeg, and the grated carrots, Mix all ingredients with a spoon.

Sift flour and yeast

Mix the flour and the yeast in another bowl, and sift them over the previous mixture. And again spoon all the ingredients until the flour is well dissolved and integrated. The next step is to pour this mixture into a buttered greased pan and place it in the preheated oven.

Mix everything and bake

The oven temperature should be around 180 degrees, but it all depends on the power of your oven. Some may be more or less. The most important thing is not to open the oven door until 30 minutes have passed. Otherwise the cake will not rise.


When that’s done, you can check if the cake is done by punching your cake with a fork. If it comes out clean, it’s time to get it out of the oven and serve it.
